Not necessarily a punch, but a good slap never k**led anyone. Had a nephew grab my shirt once after lying to my wife about what he'd done and I told him to leave. He said no and grabbed me. I hit him in the chest so hard he flew off the porch and laid in the front yard a minute or two. I went back inside and he drove off.

Agreed that sometimes kids challenge adult authority and it needs to be addressed but standing over the top of a kid while he is down and continuing to swing at him can’t be okay. I suspect there is way more to this story than we are getting. My daughter is a math teacher at the 8th grade level so I do hear stories
